Disease control and management – Existing area
Implement soil mounding to the diseased palms in order to sustain its productivity up to 10 -15 years.
Palms exhibiting symptoms of DSI 1 or DSI 2.
Removal of diseased tissue through surgery or application of chemical treatments around/on the diseased tissue.
Soils from the inter-rows area were used to mound around the base of infected palms at one metre height and two metres of diameter.
