The threat of Ganoderma to the oil palm industry in Malaysia warrants aggressive approaches in finding a solution to the disease.
Disease control and management – Existing area
Removing (deboling) the diseased old palms stands carrying mycelia masses of Ganoderma to avoid further transmission of the disease prior to replanting.
Should be carried out not only for re-planting, but also in the existing palms which exhibit infection symptoms of DSI 3 and 4.
