This SawitSecure app provides procedures to reduce the likelihood of alien pathogens and pests being established in Malaysia and minimises the impacts of pest incursion.
Seeds (embryo and kernel) are infected by several species of fungi and also bacteria. The infected seeds are either rotten or failed to germinate.
The disease is notable with appearance of small white mycelium covering over seed surface, later colonizing the inner shell and kernel.
